Rocket Espresso Bicocca Espresso Machine

Please Note: This machine comes with a 20 amp plug and must be used with a 20 amp outlet.

The Bicocca takes Rocket’s ethos of stylish machines that don’t disappoint on performance to the next level. The heated group head, intuitive touchscreen display, and perfect blend of programmability and ease of use make this one of the most compelling options for a shared space where both espresso experts and newbies need to brew on the same machine.

Features & Benefits

The Bicocca, like all Rocket machines, is visually striking. Despite taking its influence from the ashlar, an ancient architectural motif, this machine is modern and chic, balancing mirror-polished chrome with black metal. The steam and hot water taps are large and easy to turn, with the telltale “R” on the steam valve boldly declaring this machine’s pedigree. Rocket pays homage to their “no screen” design philosophy without sacrificing on the functionality offered by a navigational display by mounting the Bicocca’s 3.5” touchscreen on top of the group head, so you only see it when you’re standing directly in front of the machine.

From this display, you can navigate the machine’s comprehensive menu offerings which give you full control over every brewing parameter imaginable: boiler temperature, steam pressure, group head temperature, volumetric single and double shot doses, pre-infusion timing, and more. Despite the impressive amount of customization available for brewing on this machine, it’s also incredibly easy to use, making it an excellent choice for a household or office where both hobbyist brewers and novices will be using the same machine. Once the machine is set up, a single push of a button initiates an automatic brewing process that delivers repeatable results with every shot, whether you know what you’re doing or not.

The Bicocca’s 7.7 lb group head is heated internally to provide extraordinary thermal stability during extractions—it also means the Bicocca is brew-ready in just 12 minutes, an impressive feat for a machine of this size. The 0.5 L brew boiler and 1.5 L steam boiler are both made of stainless steel, and the 1.8 L water reservoir means you won’t need to refill the machine too often. Of course, the rotary pump is fully plumbable, so you can hook it up for a never-ending supply of brew water.

Why You Should Get It

The Bicocca achieves the impressive feat of being truly dual-purpose. It’s simultaneously a prosumer-grade machine capable of serving the needs of true hobbyist brewers who demand extreme precision and the latest features, and an easy-to-use, approachable way to get a great shot simply if that’s what you’re interested in. Coupled with its impressive stamina for repeated brewing without losing temperature stability, the Bicocca is a compelling solution for any shared space.

The Bicocca takes Rocket’s ethos of stylish machines that don’t disappoint on performance to the next level. Featuring a heated group head, intuitive touchscreen display, and perfect blend of programmability and ease of use, the Bicocca is a compelling option for users of all skill levels.

Manufacturer

Rocket Espresso makes hand-built espresso machines with classic Italian design. They feature heated E61 group heads for temperature stability, rotary pumps, and PID controllers, making them some of the most sophisticated machines available. Rocket espresso machines are great not only for home use but for commercial set-ups like cafés and coffee shops as well.

Water Quality Requirements

Water quality testing for your espresso machine is essential for optimal flavor and equipment longevity. Good water enhances the taste of your coffee, while impurities can cause scale buildup and damage to the machine. Damage caused by inadequately treated water will void the machine and manufacturer’s warranty. Chloride requirements only apply to machines with steel boilers.
